Michael A. Norman, Reno-based New York Life Insurance agent, has been named to the New York Life President's Council, his twenty-third consecutive attainment of Council status in the company.

Michael A. Norman, CLU, has been named a member of the 2012 President’s Council of New York Life Insurance Company.  Members of the President’s Council are among the most successful of New York Life’s agents.  Norman joined New York Life in 1989 and has achieved recognition as a life Council member.  He is based in New York Life’s Reno office, and this year marks his twenty-third consecutive Council qualification.

Norman has been instrumental in the development of agent training programs and mentors new agents in the Reno area.  He is a past Chair of the Chamber Diplomats, a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and WIN and a past member of the local Association of Fundraising Professionals.   He continues to counsel local nonprofits in the development of their planned giving strategies.

“Achieving President’s Council is a great recognition, but the most important reward in my work is being able to make a difference in someone’s life,” Norman said.

Norman will receive his award in October, along with his fellow Council members, at the New York Life Council meeting in Vancouver, Canada.
