The Nevada Women’s Expo is celebrating its 10th anniversary event, March 31-April 1, 2012, at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, and the occasion has been recognized by elected officials locally and statewide.  Reno Mayor Robert Cashell declared March 31-April 1 as Nevada Women’s Expo Days, and Sparks Mayor Geno Martini proclaimed it Nevada Women’s Expo Weekend.   Both mayors cited the Expo’s history as the region’s largest and longest-running consumer show focused on women’s interests, needs and aspirations.  Nevada’s Governor and U.S. Senators also have recognized the Expo, with Governor Brian Sandoval and Senator Dean Heller issuing certificates of recognition and Senator Harry Reid sending a certificate of commendation.

This year’s Expo promises to be historic in a number of ways, with firsts including free childcare (first-come, first-served basis), a tea garden and recognition of 33 “Expo-nential Women” who were nominated by their friends, neighbors and co-workers for improving quality of life in the community.  Tahoe Creamery is offering free ice cream tastings to choose their new “Blue Lake” ice cream flavor.  The first 100 arrivals at the Expo on Saturday will be given free lipid screenings from Abbott.  Northern Nevada Medical Center also is offering free blood pressure checks and body fat analysis during the weekend.  More prizes than ever before will be offered, including ten $100 “shop the show” winners and many additional door prizes.

This heart of the Expo is always the exhibitors, and this year’s event offers close to 200, covering an array of women’s interests, including business, careers, education, money management, health, fitness, beauty, home and garden, food and wine, creative arts and volunteerism.  Many are offering special deals, samples and new products and services.  The Expo stage will host more than 20 intriguing speakers and demonstrations.  Among the luminaries will be Dee Wallace, actress from ET: The Extra-Terrestrial and author of Bright Light: Spiritual Lessons from a Life in Acting, and Loral Langemeier, entrepreneurial expert and author of Yes! Energy.
