SaferRider.com will demonstrate airbag-technology safety gear at Horse Expo
SaferRider.com will be demonstrating its innovative vests and jackets designed to offer equestrians an extra layer of safety at the Western States Horse Expo, June 8-10, 2012, at Cal Expo Fairgrounds in Sacramento. SaferRider’s latest line of highly protective, lightweight and comfortable gear will be on display for equestrians and dealers in booth 1317 at the Horse Expo, Friday through Sunday, June 8-10,
Billed as the largest and most comprehensive equestrian exposition in North America, the Horse Expo annually attracts thousands of attendees and their horses, plus hundreds of exhibitors.
SaferRider gear contains a built-in airbag system without bulk or weight that would hamper comfort or performance. Using a key system that connects to the saddle, the SaferRider safety vest is designed to deploy in milliseconds, the moment the rider loses contact with the horse. Upon falling, the airbags within the vest activate before the rider hits the ground. The vest is designed to create a protective bubble around vital organs and increase chances of walking away from a potentially devastating fall. SaferRider vests and jackets can be reset and reused within minutes of being deployed, making them affordable life-saving tools.
“Falls from horses accounted for more than 78,000 ER visits in 2007, and awareness is growing of the benefits of riding with SaferRider vests and jackets,” said Alan Cunningham, CEO of SaferMoto, parent company of SaferRider. “Just as helmets are becoming standard issue, we feel that SaferRider vests soon will be seen as essential for safety-minded riders, whether recreational or competitive” he added.
Airbag-equipped safety apparel now is used by equestrians and motorcyclists in more than 30 countries worldwide. Riders who’ve experienced an accident wearing a SaferRider vest or jacket become advocates of the newfound safety and confidence of wearing this advanced level of protection. SaferRider donates its safety vests to Kids and Horses, a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship premier program for children and young adults in northern Nevada.
SaferRider will hold hourly demonstrations of its inflatable vests and jackets in action in booth 1317 at the Horse Expo. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 10.
